California contractor compliance is not a single poster list. A contractor may need federal workplace posters, California labor notices, Cal/OSHA postings, IWC wage orders, workers’ compensation notices, public works records, certified payroll forms, apprenticeship forms, and project-specific documents depending on the work being performed.

4. Choose the right IWC wage order
This is where many California compliance files get messy. Field crews, office employees, drivers, shop employees, warehouse employees, and mixed operations may not all fall under the same wage order.

Common California contractor compliance mistakes
- Assuming federal posters are enough in California
